Anyone know about becoming an electrician?
My boyfriend wants to become an electrician but was told by someone you cant get your journey mans license if you have a felony on your record. He has a felony froms years ago, does this really matter or was this information correct? Thanks in advance…
Your state may have a conviction form to fill out. Check w/your local union or state licensing dept. good luck..
My late husband was a union electrician. I’ve known a lot of convicted felons who worked as electricians. I would suggest that your boyfriend contact the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers). They can answer this question as well as any other’s he might have. They also have an apprenticeship program.
