Becoming Apprentice Electrician. Can I Quit If I Don’t Like It?
Here’s the situation. I was recently offered a job as an apprentice electrician and the pay is awesome. But I plan on moving out of town to pursue bigger things in 6-7 months. I know they’d be unhappy, but they can’t sue me or anything if I quit right?
this is a good field and you might like it. Once through the apprentice and journeyman porograms you will be in a high paying field with lots of options (union work, eventually own your own business if you want, construction subcontracting, etc.) They can’t stop you from quitting, though.
Yes, I did. I did 2 years of an electrical apprenticeship and then got an opportunity with a fire dept. They can’t do anything unless they are paying for your schooling and the most they will do is require you to repay them.
I was one 2 years ago and quit it, so I don’t see why you shouldn’t.
I don’t see why. Are you signing some sort of contract?
