Do Electrical engineers do much hands on work?

By , May 14, 2010

I want to be an Electrical Engineer, but i wouldn’t like the hands on repair work.

Do they ever need to repair communications towers? I heard they did. Also, a video i saw online showed electrical engineers working in an office for the goverenment and also going out to repair generators and lines!!!!! I DONT WANT TO DO THAT. Are most fields of electrical engineering like that? If not, which ones?

I HATE HANDS ON REPAIR WORK!

Should i be an Electrical engineer?

  1. venkat a says:

doing electrical engg doesn’t means that u have to work like that .
there are many other relative sectors which need elec. engg like developing something new for electrical sectors …………….. ajob of scientist, a researcher, innovator…………etc can switch to electronics sector for developing new chips and instruments.

so don’t be afraid of it, it’s a bit tedious but not hard or difficult
