Do you think there should be a test to be accepted to Public Highschools?

By , May 14, 2010

Coming from a Public High-school I saw so much time, money and efforts being consumed by kids that had no intention on continuing their education with college. They were there because they “had to” This kids will cause a lot of trouble and fights. Meanwhile tax payers monies are wasted. This kids had no interest in books or essays. They instead liked cars, construction, electrician, plumbing, , and other more blue collard things. If the time and money that was wasted in them to “control” them was used in more technical schools, those kids would have a more productive future. And for the ones that wanted to be there we would have had a better learning environment. Your thoughts?

You have made a number of valid points.
One problem is that many of these children have no specific interest in any particular trade. Another problem is that the parents often will not reduce their college goals for their children.A third problem is that the cost of a vocational education due to equipment supplies and reduced class size is more per student than for those who attend a regular high school.
