the amperage is what kills, not the voltage.people die from 120V plugs all the time, and i’ve touched a 14,000 volt electric fence and i’m fine!

if there is a 30 milliamp difference between phase and return neutral i.e a leak 2 earth maybe from an electric shock the R.C.D will trip so ground/earth is the most important thing for any chance of an R.C.D to work

The cable to the electric space heater can be small in comparison to the US,as we are on 240 volts, and you need 1/2 the current to power appliances at that voltage in comparison to 120 volts.

In the US, transformers inside of appliances uses 100% of the utility’s amps and breaks down most of the voltage and uses only what’s required to make the wattage the appliance draws. Actually I’d say it’s much easier and safer to use higher voltage and less amps. because amps is what kills. also you get a lot more resistance (more heat and risk of fire) also the wires will need to heavier (thicker)
