Future career involving solar power… where to start?

By , August 22, 2010

So what research Ive been doing to help decide my future and my career, Im obviously looking for something reliable/long term and I want to make great money. Im pretty open for anything if there are better options that I just dont know about. But I feel like the demand is going to be more towards “go green” such as solar power. Is there an average pay for techicians in this line of work, or for any jobs related? I’m sure theres a wide range, but I’m clueless where to start and what all is involved. But what I do know is that solar power will be in higher demand as time goes, and I want a part in it. Thanks for your responses.

Yes, in the long term, solar will be one of the few sources of energy remaining. currently, demand is low, but there are some artificial factors at-play, such as general unavailability of high-efficiency amorphous cells.

if you can engineer a way to bring return on investment to < 2yrs, you can build a career for yourself.
