Good undergrad Civil Engineer schools in CA?

By , June 1, 2010

I’ve been looking up top schools like crazy. What are some of the best California undergrad schools for civil engineering in your opinion? Also, if you go to an undergrad school to finish your masters, can you transfer to another college to get your doctorate?

P.S. what do computer engineers and electrical engineers do?

Thanks, old chap.

  1. ca_surveyor says:

Computer engineers are not necessarily professional engineers.. that is typically one of four in california
Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural (which is an advanced Civil).

Cal Poly, UC Berk. both have good engineering studies.

Think hard about getting a masters or a Phd.. before you go that route you will want to get a professional license (no that is not automatic with graduation).

You may want to find out about how you obtain a professional license in California . You need to have one before you can legally call yourself an engineer (unless you mean the guy that sweeps up – ‘sanitation engineer’, or the guy that drives the train)

try this site – they are the ones that run the show in California:

    good luck…
