How do I be come an electrician?
It depends on the state that you’re in. Typically it is 8000 work hours under the direction of a licensed electrician. Vocational schools count towards your hours.
Depending upon where you live…usually you must have at least a grade 10 education, you should research in your state, province and then find an employer willing to take you on as an apprentice. You have to work for them for a few months so they can decide if you’re inclined that way and then, if they like your work, they register as your employer willing to support year one and from there….you work a certain number of hours and go to school for about 8 weeks and back to work for another year. Do this for 4 years and you should be a journeyman. It’s more if you’d like to get your master electrician certification.
