This is the best that I could do, but the biggest opportunity for employment in a solar plant would be washing the solar panels.
If you are really interested in the solar industry you might want to enroll in Carnegie Mellon Universityhttp://www.solaramericacities.energy.gov…

A solar power plant has very little need for workers other than checking panels to see that they are performing to spec. When they are not performing to spec they are detached and sent off site for repair.
The rows of panels report when they are not performing to spec, so it is just a matter of going along the row to find out which panel(s) are out of spec. This is not a lot of knowledge. One plugs in the tester and reads it.
But there is a job in fixing the panels, off site.

I’m not even sure that there are any merchant-sized solar power plants around Pittsburgh, nevermind jobs that might be available.
I’ve put some links to some energy job websites below. You might also try searching Monster.com for words like solar.

No Solar power is going to be most effective in the desert. Pittsburgh is one of the last places to produce solar power!
