I’m willing to do anything, I need to make a lot more money than minimum wage. What?

By , December 21, 2012

What could I do, where could I look? I’m an unexperienced worker with a high school diploma who is willing to do the worst job ever. What could it be, what part of the USA would you recommend? I am a US citizen.

You could check out some telemarketing jobs. If you do well, you’ll make the money you are looking for. If you don’t you’ll get the boot.

Either way you will learn to talk to people. You’ll learn to sell yourself. You will learn discipline. You’ll get high praise if you do well, and a big bonus.

Beats the heck out of min. wage.

This job has bad hours. You work Saturday for 1/2 day. You may work holidays.

It’s like boot camp. I did this for a year. These skills have helped me with many different jobs.

    Best of luck to you!

I’d recommend you go back to school and educate yourself so that you are worth more.

If that doesn’t suit you, then find an apprenticeship program with a plumber, a carpenter, an electrician, etc., and gradually learn that way so that you are worth more. Or the military.

You won’t like my answer. My daughter didn’t either. Your best option is to grit your teeth and continue your schooling in college. Develop a higher educational level that you can put in a resume. Get educated in a marketable skill. It takes time, but if you’re looking for a future of having more spending money in your pocket, that’s a proven path. Not always of course, but it offers the best hope in the long run.
