Purchase the correct fitting, then check that the mains is OFF! at the power box. Then disconnect the bayonet fitting, taking note of where the different wires go too! Make a sketch if you want too! then re-connect the wires in the right order before screwing the fitting back into the ceiling. There should be three wires; Red=Positive Black=Neutral Green= Earth. Please make sure they are located in the correct locations before you switch on the power again. Have a great day.

I do not see why you shouldnt there are only two wires. Before you try examine the new fitting so you are fully aware of what to do then turn off the supply and go ahead, make sure you can reach the light fitting with comfort

It’s a simple enough job but with everything electrical, if you don’t know what to do, leave it well alone and get someone in who knows what they are doing.

  5. Stan Dup says:

its not a specialist electricians job its an easy job to do yourself, but i suppose its only ever easy if you know what your doing, because do it wrong and it can be deadly

  6. Spartan says:

only if you are certian what you are doing

  7. hans2 says:

As long as the electricity is off you will not get harmed.
All you need is a small flat-headed screwdriver

  8. The Great Escape says:

If you know how to do it then do it yourself and save youself some cash.

  9. Marc says:

Make sure you note where all the wires go! or even take a digi pic of them. Easy enough job to do, a little fiddly some can be.
DONT FORGET TO TURN THE POWER OFF ! ! !
