If you’re going to build a solar power plant, you are going to need a lot of construction paper and glue. You could probably pick those things up at your local Walmart or General Goods store.

If it is a get solar energy.
You need a very very black surface to absorb maximum solar energy and the base of the case you have a black surface in should be movable to get as much light as possible from all directions. I don’t know how can you transfer that energy to some other demand

Well, I would perform a “dogpile” search for Solar Cell Panels
How much surface area depends on how much power you look to generate.
Places like Crutchfield and JC whitney also have the solar “trickle” chargers that hook up to your cigarette lighter sockets…
    these are reasonably priced…
Then, you need to figure on a way to store the power when not in use…..A small motorcycle battery would do well here….it is 12v.
Anything you’d run off of it, would need to be a 12-13.5 volt rated item.
You need to be more specific as to the requirments….what will the power demand be? How much space are you allowed? Can it be a fixed contraption? or will it have to be mobile?
Ask yourself these questions and go from there….
I have also seen some panels mounted like this to obtain a smaller footprint and maximize exposure to the sun.

Mount them on a turret of some kind such that you can always keep them facing the sun. Some hightech units have a photodiode that senses the brightest light and is wired/programmed to turn the frame mount by a servo motor until it finds the sun. It is mounted on one of the panels so they will always face the sun.
    Hope this helps

Ask your teacher if this will work: make a small windmill to turn a generater to create electricity. Wind is created by the sun heating the air unevenly (more or less), so it is TECHNICALLY solar power. If that won’t work, you may need to find some small solar panels, like take some out of cheap calculaters. Then hook them up to something to show they are working (e.g. a small lightbulb) with a SMALL amount of wiring-these don’t usually create much energy. Good Luck!
