My husband currently works as a firefighter and on his off days he works for his father who is a master electrician. My husband is not certified but has over 20 yrs experiance as a electrcians helper. When he retires he was thinking of possible going on to become a master electrician but does not know where to start. Can anyone help with information on this, we are currenlty located in Florida. My grandfather Trained to become an electrician, and now runs his own business, and my father has worked with him for years.
I love hands on work and am extremely interested in becoming an electrician.
You call my current boss, and she will tell you I am the hardest worker she has, and can always be counted on to handle situations that she cant. (due to whatever reason.)

I am 21 years old country boy, and have a strong work ethic.

But here is what has turned people away from me in the past, and I am hoping to find out that this is not the case here.

When I was junior in highschool, at 17 years of age, I recieved a misdemeanor for possession of marijuana.

I know it doesnt matter that I havent touched the stuff since, and dont plan too, but I am hoping these people can look past that in the hiring process.

What do you think, do I have a chance of getting the apprenticeship?

Is it a good idea to keep my dream of becoming a doctor if i’m about to graduate high school and pregnant?

I am only 17, but i’ve always had a plan for myself. I’ve always done well in school, and i’ve kept my standards for myself very high. I’ve always wanted to be a lawyer, but I recently gave up that dream for many reasons. A doctor has always been my second choice, and is now my first. I honestly have no idea if I can do this or even if I should because I am having a baby and I need to think of my child. I know I need to think of my child first, and the process of becoming a doctor takes 12 years. I am going to still live at my parent’s house, but with my boyfriend. He’s going to trade school to become an electrician, but I don’t think his income alone will be able to support 3 people. My dream has always been to have a big beautiful house in a nice neighborhood, with a better than just average job. I know this can still be possible, even though it will be much harder. I just wanted to know if someone could give me some advice and tell me if it would be a good idea to still go to medical school? I understand you guys cannot tell me what to do, but some advice or suggestions would be nice and appreciated, thanks.
My family has not saved a dime for my education, and they act like the government has it covered. Whatever, I plan on getting a loan, and paying it off after college.

I am enrolled in a very reputable local tech school here in St. Pete, FL for an Electricity program. the program is 1200 hours and I expect to learn a lot from it as I have almost no prior electricity experience other than installing ceiling fans and light fixtures and such around my families home. I am making a huge career change and electricity is something that has always been interesting to me and I think I would enjoy doing it. I am in the Tampa Bay area of Florida and I see hardly any ads looks for electricians in the newspapers and craigslist, etc around here. After I finish this program what kind of job can I expect to get and would I be able to find someone who will take me on as a part-time helper or something while I am in school? Is this is a wise career move at this time in this area of Florida?

Information about becoming a plumber in the UK?

Hi guys, I would very much like to become a plumber in the UK I am 17 and have taken courses in high school relating to plumbing (construction & design technology). I want to know where to go from here… I know there is information on the internet but it there seems a variety of different ways and I would like to see how most people become a plumber.
Also if you are a plumber what are the pros and cons and is the money side good? Alot of people claim it is but I don’t personally know any plumbers to ask.

MY GRANDAD SAID ALL I NEED IS AN APPRENTICESHIP AND HE CAN QUITE EASY GET ME ONE BECAUSE HES IN THE COUNCIL. HE ALSO SAID THAT IT WILL BE ABOUT 4 YEARS TRAINING AND YOU DONT NEED ANY EXPERIENCE AT ALL, YOU CAN JUST GO AND TRAIN!

I’m almost 15 and I was wondering what kind of career I’d like to have after finishing school and I am very interested in becoming an electrician. What kind of classes will I need to do to help me become an Electrician? I’m doing very well in High-school Maths and Science and haven’t done very much in Physics. I don’t have a lot of experience or knowledge aside from a book detailing basic electronics for boating. I know I’ll need to seek out an apprenticeship to learn all the necessary things involved but is there any way I can better my chances for actually being a licensed Electrician?
