How will Big Oil Lobbyist try to prevent an Energy Bill from passing?

1. Will they say that there are Death Panels in the Energy Bill?

2. Will they say Clean Energy is the same as pulling the plug on Grandma, because she has been used to smell of Oil and Gas, and that her lungs could not handle fresh air.

3. Will they say that it will destroy jobs, because the Big Oil Companies will not make as many profits if people start using Solar, Wind and Nuclear Power to heat their homes and businesses. and if people start driving Electric Cars.

Whats the exact job description for finding new forms of energy like hydrogen and solar?

I’m a high school student thats looking at future career options… My whole life, i’ve always enjoyed building contraptions like catupults, custom bikes and other stuff and also enjoy fixing up old bikes and t.v’s… stuff like that…

I’ve looked into becoming an engineer of some sort… and with the world energy crisis, i’ve become interested in developing a product to solve the energy crisis ( Ex: Hydrogen cars, Solar Power, Wind Energy )… my question is though…. what type of engineering is that considered?? Mechanical? Civil? If its even considered engineering…

Renewable Energy vs. Other Careers?

Okay so im 21 and trying to figure out what to do with my life career wise. Problem is theres nothing in particular in college or uni that jumps out at me. In the end its all work and its hard to tell whether ill enjoy a program called “business administration/martketing” or “environmental sciences”, to me that leaves question marks everywhere as to where you’ll end up or how successful you can be. So now im thinking of getting into a trade of some sort. Im thinking either Electrician, Plumbing, Renewable Energy Technician or Renewable Energy Technologies. All of which are pre-apprenticeship programs expect renewable technologies i believe. Im leaning toward either renewable energy programs because A. its inevitable that its going to need to be big in the future and B. I have a love of nature and feel it would be a small contribution towards the betterment of the planet itself whereas business is all “money money money” and helps nothing but the “economy” essentially. Everyone always says “get into a trade it pays big time” and “get an apprenticeship” yet none of these people are involved in trades and i havent once met someone in an apprenticeship. Makes me wonder how difficult it would be to get an apprenticeship and if renewable energy would be a lucrative career at all. Im just like everyone else out there, i want a well paying job, enough to livecomfortably and support my family. Only thing is i want to do something I feel good about inside. Any advice or insight is appreciated. Thanks!

Why do Conservatives hate Clean Energy, Green Jobs, and the Environment?

All I hear from Conservatives & Republicans is their hatred of Al Gore’s environmentalist campaigns, hatred of the movie “An Inconvenient Truth”, hatred of Hybrid cars, hatred of wind farms, hatred of alternative energy, hatred of solar power, and the propagating of the false belief that global warming doesn’t exist.

The reason is because the Big Oil industry, whose lobbyists fund Republican Congressmen, trickle-down this propaganda to their constituents (you Conservatives), having you believe that global warming is a myth and that we shouldn’t pursue clean energy.

It’s no different than the “scientists” that Big Tobacco companies pay to go in front of Congress or the Supreme Court and lie that smoking doesn’t cause lung cancer.

why are politicians not solving the energy crisis with solar panels on homes.?

solar panels on homes would reduce our consuption of coal, reduce the need for nuclear power, and create U.S. Based manufacturing for these panels, and create jobs in constuction.

I’m doing a poster on Renewable energy, and I would just like someone to verify that all these facts are correct:

Clean energy poster:
What is clean energy?
This is power produced from renewable (naturally replenished) and natural resources without having a negative impact on the environment.
Examples of reliable “clean” energy sources include: sunlight, water, wind, biomass and geothermal heat.

Wind Power – this is the conversion of wind strength into usable energy sources, especially for electricity. This type of power can be obtained by using wind turbines and wind mills.

Solar Energy – this is the power that is obtained from sunlight and can be converted into other types of energy. Inventions such as solar panels can help collect this source of energy for conversion.

Biomass Energy – Biomass is any plant (trees) or animal matter, and can be used to create an energy-rich gas called Biogas. Biomass can also be burned to create fuel for different uses.

SOLAR ENERGY
-This renewable source of energy does not produce waste or pollution.
-This fuel is used for many things: electricity, creation of biomass, heating water, and buildings, and even transport (solar-powered cars)
-This is a free, reliable and clean energy source.

WIND ENERGY
-This is one of the lowest priced renewable energy sources.
-This renewable source is a good alternative to nuclear energy in areas with favourable climate conditions.
-This source can provide cleaner air and a much healthier environment for all.

BIOMASS ENERGY
-Growing biomass for fuel can create jobs in rural areas.
-Biomass is not a fossilised fuel (like oil and coal), but fresh natural material that can grow again, even after harvesting.
-Using this source of power will not have a major affect on the environment.
