GOING GREEN INFO: In reference to cleaning:?

I know there are green cleaning products. My question is this, is it better to use paper towels to clean with (making more trash-recycle) OR using a cloth that would have to be washed (therefore using more water and electricity)? Any other green cleaning tips would be appreciated.

In the spirit of earth day coming up, what are some habits/ideas/aspirations for going green? By this i mean the little things that everybody can do, but build up for a lot. Ex: reducing your use of plastic water bottles, turning the lights of when you leave the room to conserve electricity, or limiting your use of paper on a daily basis then recycling that you do use.

So? What are your green habits?

Does my Macbook Pro Stop Charging Once the Light Turns Green?

I have a 13″ mid-2009 Macbook Pro. I want to be able to keep the built in battery for as long as possible. This requires me to take out the charger once the battery is full, unless it stops charging the battery. When the light turns green, does my computer run on the electricity provided by the charger or does it also charge the battery?

Does being green mean you support global warming? I do not support global warming in there beliefs, but I do believe in helping the planet and reducing electricity use, picking up litter and that stuff.

Why do Conservatives hate Clean Energy, Green Jobs, and the Environment?

All I hear from Conservatives & Republicans is their hatred of Al Gore’s environmentalist campaigns, hatred of the movie “An Inconvenient Truth”, hatred of Hybrid cars, hatred of wind farms, hatred of alternative energy, hatred of solar power, and the propagating of the false belief that global warming doesn’t exist.

The reason is because the Big Oil industry, whose lobbyists fund Republican Congressmen, trickle-down this propaganda to their constituents (you Conservatives), having you believe that global warming is a myth and that we shouldn’t pursue clean energy.

It’s no different than the “scientists” that Big Tobacco companies pay to go in front of Congress or the Supreme Court and lie that smoking doesn’t cause lung cancer.

And it got me thinking. What exactly are green jobs. You hear the word used in the news often but to me it seems like a rather nebulous concept. Are they jobs that conserve energy? Promote cleaner energy? Is a green job a manufacturer for solar panels? What if a manufacturing plant makes solar panels and equipment for coal fired power plants (hypothetical) are new jobs created at the plant considered “green” jobs or brown jobs?

I am looking for a “green” job in the Philadelphia area. I feel strongly improving sustainability and I am very interested in getting involved in changing our planet for the better. I am interested in solar power and thermal energy specifically but I have no experience or extensive knowledge about any of the green fields. I know sales is always a good way to get your foot in the door but its not my strong suit. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me locate a job or position?
