Laurie, that doe not help at all.
These are actually sucker traps. You click into one of those funny icon, take in information plus your cell phone number. Suddenly, your cell starts ringing again and again. Next bill shoots up almost twice as much.

So over the years, I’ve heard of people going different places in random locations to do jobs, such as laying pipe, or other industrial cleaning services… I’ve known some guys (none in contact now) who were involved in this. I am not particularly interested in going overseas (yet) with KBR, dyncorp, etc… on top of that, I already applied to KBR twice and never heard anything back on a job that I thought I might be qualified for.

I don’t have a CDL, or any electrician, plumbing, carpentry, or welding skills. So until I get some kind of certification for one of those, I am simply general labor (although I can operate a forklift).

Anybody out there that can steer me in the right direction, if anyone knows about these jobs that pay good money and require extended time away from home, I appreciate the help.

It just amazes me that white people do not accept truths about how our nation has screwed over blacks forever. Systematic and institutional racism exists and the facts are always ignored by the haves. I want a CHANCE to work hard. I have a college degree, no felonies, and I seem to always get passed over for jobs. I have a white friend with a drug felony, yet he was able to get an opportunity to learn carpentry and now he is a journeyman (daddy got him the job). The same year I was turned down for an electrician apprenticeship. Why won’t white people stop hiring their white buddies and family members or nice white girls over black men with education and no criminal records? It is racism! I had a letter sent to me from the labor dept. stating I was discriminated against due to race when I applied at FedEx and my friend got one from Pepsi. I have a white friend with no degree who works for Pepsi and he would tell me when they were hiring. I would apply and never heard a damn word back. Knowing this info, how many times had I been passed over because of being black? Black people do not have the amount of network contacts, have to pay higher interest fees, get targeted by police more often, have drugs pumped into communities, have schools without the same amount of funding as white schools. I wish I had this magical race card somewhere to pull out and it actually worked. I would not apologize to anybody. The powerful white majority through history has stolen land, killed witches, hanged blacks, and even now the powerful majority is running our country into the ground with their greed by sending jobs overseas and building prisons more often than schools in the ghetto. I am angry. I don’t want to be. I want to work. If more of the majority gave a rats ass about minorities I could get the chance a little easier than it is just off my hard work alone. Start giving a shit about THE REAL REASON why it is harder for blacks and then we can make some progress.

I was wondering what are some of the best states for Electrical Engineers? i.e. salary, cost of living, number of opportunies, location etc.

I am asking because my gf and i are graduating undergrad next spring and she has been looking at grad schools for her major. The problem is that her major is rare (speech and hearing sciences) and we want to be in a mild climate since we’ve lived in NY our whole lives.

Thus, we’ve narrowed it down to either:
North Carolina
South Carolina
Florida
Texas
Missouri

If you could say why one is better than the others.
I’m leaning towards Optics but I’m pretty much open in terms of fields.
