I’ve been working 40 hours a week since i was a sophmore in high school. I now have only 1 year left until my bachelors in electrically engineering tech. I love going to school and learing about how everything works. I’m riding on a 3.97 gpa without even trying because I actually enjoy it. I now have a job in the field though for what I’m being educated in (electronic technician) and I’m hating it. It seems like the jobs that are out there for me dont utilize the information I am learning at school and only take a short term to get the job down… To be honest I had more fun when I was in high school working 40hrs at a Taco Bell. I’m tired of working for companies where there is no learning involved past tghe first month…. where I get to sit and be somebodies elses mindless robot… I dont like working this much anymore either. I feel like I’m wasting 40hrs a week, 1/3 of my life making some1 else money while they just tell me what to do and sit there watching videos and congregating with poeple… I dont know what to do… any suggestions??

It came back to my mind because I’m studying music theory because I want to play the piano. So now I feel the same way like when he would tells us that. I just feel like I’m memorizing everything and not actually learning it. So how can I learn something and not just memorize it so I wont forget later on. Not just music theory but like on everything else, like for me computer programming and networking.

The following are a sampling of some of the journey level electrical courses one can take to advance his or her learning in his or her chosen electrical field.

The first, an eight hour training session in Leviton, teaches students about the installation of cable, about its use and termination and about how to install and handle a multiple pair. They learn as well about installing a twisted pair, as well as fibre optic and coax cables. This is one of the electrical courses in the UK that offers continuing education credits towards electrician license renewal. Six credits are awarded with successful completion of this course.

For certification in various elements of electrical course there are a number of UK electrical courses available. The first is that for the certification in residential general electrician and life and fire safety. The instructors in these electrical courses look at the various principles of the federal National Electrical Code of 1999, Ohms law and the basic principles that must be adhered to and learned for certification. Students are able to participate in practice tests. To attend these certification electrical courses each student must bring his or her own copy of the NEC book. These electrical courses are available as classroom lectures during the day or online for those who cant attend the lectures.

One of the more introductory of the electrical courses for journey level electricians is the instrumentation intro class. An introduction into industrial instrumentation, the course teaches flow, pressure, temperature and monitoring of all these levels as part of working in process control. The nine week course teaches students who are just starting out in the instrumentation field as well as those who want to bone up on the lessons of instrumentation for their ISA exam to become a certified control systems technician.

Three follow up electrical courses expand the instrumentation lessons. Instrumentation 102 is nine weeks too, and in this session students work in a laboratory environment applying the classroom lessons learned in the introductory courses. They learn calibration techniques and methods, and more closer examine the fundamentals and operations of indicators, switches, recorders and transmitters. This course is ideal for loop check workers and those involved in the installation of instrumentation equipment.

This course is then followed by a chance to learn about why process control systems are important, and why control logic is crucial to every industry. Every student in this class will have to apply prior knowledge in the electrical laboratory. Theyll use electrical equipment to calibrate, wire and test it under the watchful eye of the trained instructor. Theyll construct their own process system, demonstrating safe procedures for start-up and tuning. This training is one of the electrical courses that teach and hone troubleshooting capabilities and apply the knowledge theyve learned about maintaining electrical instruments.

The final one of the instrumentation electrical courses refines the former training and looks at advanced instrumentation practices. In addition, students will learn about MMI and computer graphics and how important they have become in electrical instrumentation.

If you’re ill, agoraphobic, a caregiver that doesn’t have a whole lot of time to travel back and forth to school, or someone without adequate transportation, don’t give up on electrician training. You can participate in electrician training right from your home.

You can actually train from home to be a full fledged electrician or just participate in the at-home electrician training to hone your current skills or review. The program is designed to let you learn the necessary training to be an electrician at your own pace and at the schedule the suits your busy lifestyle. The electrician training program is not just used by individuals who buy direct from the author, either. It is also used by a large number of colleges, universities, vocational and trade schools, electrical companies and apprenticeship program administrators all over the world.

This electrician training starts with electrical theory and then advances to the rules of Ohms Law, and on to lessons in magnetism, electrical tools and safety. Students also learn about electrical services, wiring methods, electrical motors, how to conduct electrical inspections and how to maintain and troubleshoot various electrical equipment and parts.

This electrician training is not just online or book material either. Students learn at home through the animated electrician training videos that the course designer has created to teach quickly and easily. Each chapter of the course includes a video that is narrated by the electrician author. The video shows footage of live electrical installations, and animated descriptions of volt-amps, electrons and other pertinent products and processes. Every video is from 75- 120 minutes long.

Contractors who are using electricians that haven’t gone through a complete training process, this at-home course work is excellent to advance their careers and their work products quality. The electricians will know be familiar with all the Code requires and will understand how to prepare for and communicate with the electrical inspector on each job.

While the total price of the electrician training course is 895, those who cannot pay this fee up front can make arrangements to pay each of the ten modules one at a time as they take them. The price of each module is 95. Of course, there is a considerable discount in paying all at once.

This electrician training program consists of ten parts, the conclusion of each is a three part exam to determine if she or he has sufficiently comprehended and retained the course material for that module. Once the student takes the exam he or she will mail it to the schools training facility for it to be graded. It is not until that student successfully passes the modules exam that she or he can advance to the next electrician training module.

The electrician training modules cover the theory of electrons, Ohms Law, Magnetism, electric tools and the safe electrical procedures, methods of residential wiring, methods for commercial wiring, bending, electrical servicing, grounding, filing conduits and the study of motors boxes, and the maintenance and inspection of electrical meters.

Distance learning electrician courses are increasingly getting popular. Electricians are important functionaries in both the domestic and industrial segments. Given their indispensability, right from our homes to complex industrial and scientific processes, a career as an electrician offers lucrative options. If you are in some kind of doubt, consider this. A recent report revealed that the hourly pay of immigrant electricians in Britain is far higher than that of engineers.

Importance of Professional Courses

Electricians have to handle various kinds of equipment. The complexity increases when an electrician has to manage components manufactured in different countries. While there are certain international standards on electrical equipment manufacturing, products from different countries tend to have some technical differences. Distance learning electrician programs should ideally take into consideration a wide range of equipment.

Before choosing your program, you must make sure that they train you on diverse equipment. Without proper knowledge of the equipment involved, you take a risk which could involve damage to life and property. The right distance learning electrician program can take you places, and the market is open for electricians with skills at all levels. For example, the demand for low-skill electricians is very high in the Middle East and those from Asia are known to send handsome pay checks back home every year.

Learning Centers

Distance learning electrician courses are conducted by various institutions of technical training. Competent technical authorities should accredit the courses. Without such accreditation and affiliation your certification may not be valid. Be sure to evaluate any institution you may be interested in for accreditation.

ICS is among the top distance educators for electricians. ICS Student Advisors are available over email and phone at any point of time and provide for their student community a library and resources where students can share and learn. A final assessment forms a part of the course work for evaluation of learners. Penn Foster Career School, another leader in distance education, conducts its courses of Electrician Trade School under its accredited International Correspondence School.

The website of WorldWideLearn provides information on a number of resources on distance education for electricians. Moray College offers distance education courses according to the Scottish Joint Industry Board for electricians that provides specific training and related further education at multiple levels of competence, ranging from grading for basic Electrician to more advanced levels. Professional Career Development Institute offers print and fast-track web-enhanced distance learning. Choose the right distance education course for an electrician and charge-up your life.
