Lights won’t turn on?

The lights in our upstairs hallway won’t turn on. There are 3 switches in different locations that would normally turn the lights on, but none of them are working now. The circuit breaker wasn’t tripped. I also reset the circuit breaker just to make sure, but no good. If I believe the panel, the circuit breaker controls the hallway lights and the laundry room lights. The laundry room lights work just fine though so it can’t be the breaker, right? I’m pretty sure I just don’t have some burnt out lights since all 3 lights worked just fine this morning. I also checked all the GFCI outlets in the house to make sure they didn’t trip too. Could a bad light switch cause all the switches and lights not to work? I really don’t have any electrician tools so can’t really do any voltage measurements. Just trying to get an idea of what I can try before I resort to a professional.

How many 6″ recessed lights can be run on one switch?

We’re putting IC rated recessed lighting in our basement and need to know how many lights can go on one switch. One electrician told me that it was ok to have 7 on each switch but another told me that 5 is the max. I need to know which electrician is right. Thank you!

Before I Go Out And Buy, Do You Recommend Solar Power Lights?

Can anyone tell me if solar powered lights are worth buying, are the super bright ones bright enough to light up my patio area or would i be wasting my money. i know they are good for the environment but i need something thats going to do the job at the same time. any advice please.
