I have no desire to be an electrician. I would like to learn how to design circuits and perhaps work in Robotics or with computers. My college doesn’t offer a degree in Electrical Engineering though, only one in Electronics Tech. Should I choose a general Engineering degree, or one in Compsci instead, and change my major when I transfer to a four year school?

here offer anything, well there is one but its way to expensive. It would be nice if i could find a cheap way to learn the trade.I’ve tried getting into a union but no one ever hires new guys. what do i do?

Dental Hygiene or Electrical Engineering Technology?

I’m having a hard time weighing the pros and cons for these. I worked as a electronic technician. I know the dental industry. I have 3 children that I want to have career flexibility for. I keep hearing the “do what you love and the money will come” but don’t know how true that is. I do love fixing things and working with tools. I have looked into university engineering programs and it’s more than I will be able to handle and devote the time to. So I have narrowed my options to these two AAS degrees. Need more insight.

After getting an associates in electrical engineering technology are there any jobs that pay towards a B.S.?

Looking into an associates in electrical technology, the school says its an equivalent to an apprenticeship… I was just wondering if its worth the cash/ if company’s honor the degree as an equivalent or not. Plus I’ve heard its hard to find somewhere to do an apprenticeship at to begin with. Any valid input would be appreciated.

which schools can I apply to do graduate education in Electrical Engineering if i have a Bachelor of science in Electrical engineering technology ?
Most schools i have contacted say i need an engineering degree as if the one i have is not engineering so i am a bit confuse… HELP ANY ONE HELP!!

Nano technology degree?

I am a 32 year old commercial/industrial electrician with a background in avionics and electronics. I am trying to find the right path to take, educational speaking, to pursue a career in the field of nano technology. There is a community college two blocks away that offers a transfer degree specifically in nanotechnology but it seems to me that I might be better served to start with a general science transfer degree as the other one seems geared more towards a more mundane clean room manufacturing type job environment in a nano tech environment. The community college is the North Seattle Community College and the college I would transfer to would most likely be the University of Washington, since I work at the UW medical center as an electrician I get a deal on tuition. I also don’t have much chemistry and biology experience, which it seems makes up a good portion of the curriculum. Thanks for your time.

When you go to school to learn a TRADE, ie electrician or HVAC technology does it count as a degree?

I am considering going to a class at votech or taking an online course. But no where do I find what type of actual certification I will have at the end. The Vo-tech class is 2 years. The online class is 20 months or as fast as I can learn the material. Can anyone give me some advice on the subject?
