The list of tools in any trade is almost unending. Most of the tools cross over to many trades and so the number of tools that only apply to one trade may be more limited. Buying tools for someone is like buying someone a suit or dress without them knowing what it is you are buying. You are sure to buy the wrong thing or something they will never use. Ask them directly for a selection of tools they would like to have because you would like to give them a gift. He or she probably has a supply house he or she likes to visit for all their tools and electrical supplies. If this is an apprentice then you will need a good quality hammer and a large selection of screw drivers, cutters, strippers, 3 needle nose, drywall saw, quality tape measure and laser level and safety equipment. And don't forget a tool belt to put it all in or a tool carrying can lots of guys prefer the can. Don't buy cheap power equipment especially don't buy something that has to be plugged in somewhere. Only buy 28 volt battery equipment with high quality brand name such as Di Walt. Paul
